INTRODUCTION OF TEST

In accordance with the guidelines / principles laid down in the order of  the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in T.M.A. Pai Foundation and Others Vs. State of Karnataka and Others (Writ Petition No. 317 of 1993) delivered on 31.10.2002, and thereafter in the case of Islamic Academy of Education and another versus State of Karnataka and others delivered on 14.08.2003, the Private Dental Colleges of Uttar Pradesh have formed an Association in the name of Association of Private Medical & Dental Colleges of Uttar Pradesh. This association shall be conducting a common entrance test for admission in BDS course for the Academic Year 2008-09 for the seats to be filled by the management on merit cum  choice.

The association of Private Medical & Dental Colleges of Uttar Pradesh herein after referred as "The Association" is duly registered with the Registrar Societies under the Societies Act, having registration No. 2329 dated 27/3/2004 and its registered office at 233 , Tiwari Gang , Faizabad Road (via chinhat), Lucknow - 227105.

The said entrance test shall be conducted in the name of Uttar Pradesh Common Admission Test (UPCAT-DENTAL) for admission of candidates on management category seat in the private dental colleges of the Uttar Pradesh who are participating in this test for the ensuing academic year 2008-09.

Test Conducting Agency

The association has assigned the responsibility of conducting the test with full transperancy to a nutral agency , New Delhi. The complete procedure for conducting  the test, evaluation of answer sheets and declaring the result will be controlled by  that agency. The Association / colleges will be provided result by the agency  for completing the subsequent procedure for admission of candidates at their colleges.
